Exuberant Joy
Exuberant Joy
“Though you have not seen Him, you love Him. Though you do not now see Him, you believe in Him and rejoice with a joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory.” 1 Peter 1:8
In the movie “Elf”, the main character Buddy always seems to have an exuberant joy.
Throughout the film, Buddy is a giddy man dressed as an Elf. He consumes massive amounts of sugary foods and almost incessantly speaks of Santa. People, of course, are skeptical and are really unsure of what to think of a grown man, dressed as an Elf, who believes in Santa.
Maybe we should strive to be more like Buddy (sans the Elf costume) in our walk with Christ. If we are filled with His glory, should we not also have a joy that is ‘inexpressible’ in the eyes of the World?
Jesus Christ came to Earth as an innocent Lamb, was sacrificed on a Cross and then rose again! He did this not only to give us eternal life, but to also give us eternal joy!
Most gracious Lord,
Help us to be more like Buddy in our walk with you. We want to have a childlike trust and joy in you. Amen
