“And Mary said, ‘My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant. For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed; for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name. And his mercy is for those who fear him from generation to generation. He has shown strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts; he has brought down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of humble estate; he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty. He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy, as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his offspring forever.’” Mary's Song of Praise: The Magnificent (Luke1:46-55)
Mary believed with all her heart the words of the angel Gabriel. Yet she was completely overjoyed when she received confirmation evidenced by a miraculous work being performed through Elizabeth, the Mother of John in Luke 1:39-45.
Points to Ponder:
Could you imagine being present to witness Mary, the Mother of Jesus, singing this lovely song of praise? When was the last time you asked God for nothing but simply gave Him total praise for a miracle He performed on your behalf?
Heavenly Father, I sing praises to Your name for the miraculous ways You have worked in my life. At this time, I desire to push aside all other agendas that I may worship You with my whole heart. I lift my hands in total praise and with Halleljuahs to You, Our God, Our Lord and Our Savior…In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
