Lent Day 7
Written by Reenie Peppers
“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16 (NKJV) I enjoy learning.
I’ve always enjoyed taking classes. Though I like the process, I can become anxious when in the midst, life throws me a curve ball. When I was about ready to finish my bachelor’s degree, we had to move to a new state. When I was finishing up my student teaching for my master’s degree, I was diagnosed with a 4 1/2 lb tumor.
The above promise in Hebrews became my education life line. However, when I started my master’s program, I got it into my head that I needed a new promise. I had claimed this promise a lot in undergraduate school. However the Holy Spirit corrected me, reminding me that the promises of God do not wear out or become less effective. So, Hebrews 4:16 also saw me through graduate school.
Remember that God’s promises never wear out. His promises do not have an expiration date.
“Dear Father, thank You for Your promises that never expire. I am so grateful that I can come boldly to You for Your mercy, grace, and help in my times of need. In the name of Jesus, Amen.”
