Men's Advance 2018

 

Men do not retreat, they ADVANCE! This year’s Men’s Advance will take place September 21-23 at the Jamestown 4-H Education Center in Jamestown, VA. It's a weekend away where you will grow through relevant teaching and worship. It will be a time of fun a and relaxation as we advance by building relationships that will encourage and strengthen us all.

COST: $145 (includes lodging and meals)

As usual, there is also an additional cost for certain activities depending on what you choose to do. The following is a list of activities and the cost of each (Note: you are not required to participate in any activity. These are simply options).

Golf - $35.00/person
The Club at Brickshire (brickshiregolfclub.com)  
U. S. Open Champion Curtis Strange teamed up with renowned architect Tom Clark to create a unique golfing experience by replicating some of his favorite holes from around the world: St. Andrews, Augusta National, Pinehurst #2, and Riviera CC.
Tee times will be reserved on September 7.

Featuring the only Arthur Hills signature-designed golf course in Williamsburg, the Colonial Heritage Club is open to the public and offers pristine playing conditions on an exceptional layout that winds through rolling hills, streams and pine forests. The magnificent clubhouse, which emulates the classic British-Colonial style that Williamsburg is renowned for, provides its guests with unsurpassed hospitality and service when dining or entertaining family, friends and clients. We have five (5) tee times starting at 1:00 pm.

Fire a Flintlock Musket - $76.00/person (reservations required)

Colonial Williamsburg (colonialwilliamsburg.com)
Get into the spirit of 1776 at the Colonial Williamsburg Musket Range. Participants will fire live rounds at a target from two different reproduction 18th-century flintlock firearms commonly used during the Revolutionary War, and learn about the history of the weapons.

Kayak, Canoe, Paddleboard

 • Tandem Kayak/Canoe - $15/hour or $35/half-day
 • Stand-Up Paddleboard - $9/hour or $23/half-day

James City County operates the Marina, formerly known as Eco Discovery Park. The James City County Marina is located on the historic Powhatan Creek, behind Jamestown Island and across the street from Jamestown Settlement. Reservations will be made one week in advance.


Fishing

Fishing in the James River is accessible on-site. Please bring your own equipment and be sure to have a valid fishing license.
