Salem Fields Community Church’s Response to Racial Inequality in America:
"We, as a Church of Jesus, are heartbroken over the events that have taken place
these last weeks, months, and years in which our brothers and sisters of humanity
have been discriminated against and their lives unjustly taken because of hatred
and prejudice. Their God-given identity should be celebrated, not persecuted.
The Bible, God's Word, proclaims in Acts 10:34-35 - God shows No partiality,
But in every nation ANYONE who fears Him and does what is right is
acceptable to Him.
The Disciple John, describes his glimpse of the beautiful scene of Heaven in
Revelations 7:9 - A great multitude that no one could number from EVERY
nation, from ALL tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the
throne and before the lamb.
Out of this understanding of God's Love for ALL people, John issues our challenge
in 1 John 4:7-12 - Let us love one another, for love comes from God.
Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does
not love does not know God because God is love. Dear friends, since God
so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
No one person is greater than another and we join in solidarity, walking alongside
all our brothers and sisters seeking equality. We support peaceful efforts to bring
about change and to ensure that every person is valued equally within our society
just as they are valued in the Heart of God. We are committed to be advocates for
them, not bystanders.
We will continue to pray and stand against racial injustice and inequality. We will
listen, empathize, and support - always displaying the Heart of Jesus in how we
Live, Love, and Serve everyone, no matter who they are.
There are many broken hearts within our community and rightfully so. Let us join
together and pray for those who are hurting and are seeking justice and change.
We must Pray for God to use us, as His Witnesses, to proclaim The Love of Jesus
which, alone, can transform hearts and minds.
As His people, we continue to push back hate, prejudice, and all areas of sin and
darkness by being a Light, and sharing the life-changing Love of Jesus.”
