When it comes to pastors at Salem Fields Community Church, more is…MORE!  It is not often that a church is led equally by a husband and wife team, and we at SFCC consider it a great privilege to have Gaye and Buddy Marston as our leaders.
 
Buddy and Gaye met as young adults, at a time when they were both disconnected from God.  They were married in 1975 and later had their daughter, Jodi.  After becoming a mom, Gaye realized she wanted Jodi to have what she had as a child:  a relationship with God, and the Family of 3 began attending church.  Gaye decided to live her life for Christ once again, and Buddy began a relationship with Him for the first time. As the years passed, Gaye and Buddy began careers in full-time ministry.
 
In 1995 Buddy and Gaye came to what was then Heatherstone Church of the Nazarene (later to become Salem Fields Community Church), from a church in Woodbridge, VA.  Gaye had served as Worship Pastor and Professional Counselor and Buddy had served as Youth Pastor and Administrator.  After moving to Fredericksburg, Buddy became the Lead Pastor while Gaye continued her counseling practice and also served as the church’s Worship Pastor.  Jodi also helped by leading music during worship services.
 
In 1996 God provided Buddy with a vision for the purpose and strategy of Salem Fields Community Church:  to reach people who are disconnected from God.  God revealed that vision to Gaye through Buddy, and it was then that He broke their hearts for this community. Gaye, Buddy, and Jodi, along with a little band of believers, came together to turn their church, community, and world upside down…all out of a love for God and a desire to help more people come to know Him.  
 
Today, Buddy and Gaye serve together as Co-Leaders, and they remain committed to helping others find what they found:  a genuine, vibrant relationship with a powerful and loving God.
