Live, In-Person Worship Services at the Gordon Rd. are back On Hold. NO Live, In-Person Worship Services this Sunday, May 31, @ 9 & 11 AM.
After much Prayer and Discussion with our Staff and Board members, we
feel clearly led of God to delay our re-opening plans.
Our Survey indicated an over-whelming percentage of our congregation is not ready to resume In-Person Worship services. Parents of young children, Health-care workers, the elderly, and people with physical illness are just a few examples of those who do not feel ready to attend.
We love what Paul says in 2 Timothy 1:7 - God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Our Church Board and Staff realize the FREEDOM that verse gives us to stride forward and make hard decisions in a time like this. You see, there is no Manual titled, ‘How to Do Church in a Pandemic Quarantine.’ However, we KNOW we have the Guidance of God’s Holy Spirit and His Word, The Bible to show us The Way. So, we are not walking in fear, but in the Power of God’s Spirit, with Great LOVE for each other, and a Sound Mind to make right decisions.
We have considered MANY factors in making this very important decision. At the top of the list is LOVE for our People. We do not want to cause ONE Person to ever be infected by COVID-19. We do not want ANYONE to feel guilty or bad about not being ready to return. So, we will Trust & Wait.
In-Person Worship will start just as soon as we feel it is Prudent.
Meanwhile, we encourage you, & any family or friends you can gather, to connect with one of our weekend online services & ask God to help you truly Worship & not just watch. If you have small children, take them to the restroom beforehand, get them a little snack & some crayons, etc. & let them play on the floor experiencing the atmosphere of Worship & learning what it means. This is no time for children & young people to miss services for weeks on end & be taught that Worship is OPTIONAL. Just get them up & in the room with you. They don’t have to brush their teeth or comb their hair. This is as easy as it gets. Come as you ARE!
Check our Website or Facebook for a weekly list of options to help you.
GOD REALLY LOVES YOU & SO DO WE!
